    The Dao (pronounced Zao) are the 9th largest ethnic group in Vietnam with a population of just under 500,000. are believed to have started migrating from China in the 13th century. they are living in the high land of the north of Vietnam, this area is very famous with beautiful landscape of Sapa District and Due to development of the tourist industry, nowaday Many tourist pleased and surprise to hear the Red Dao girl who speak English very fluently with American tone but their main language is the Hmong Dao language group (some of the foreign tourist from American and European spend their time to stay in Sapa to volunteer to teach English for them)

    There are many Dao ethnic group, we can identify them by their clothes
